Fraudulent pages use a variety of tricks to get their visitors to perform certain actions that may end up causing problems. One of the pages using such a strategy is – it hosts several pages that show a dysfunctional video player that is supposed to play entertaining content. The player is accompanied by an alert box, which asks the user to 'Click Allow to watch the video.' The 'Allow' button mentioned in the alert is meant to allow to display notifications in the user's Web browser. This change may sound harmless, but we assure you that giving random websites like the ability to use your browser's push notifications is a bad idea.

A quick test shows that enabling to display notifications may result in a constant influx of notifications that promote various services, products, websites, blogs, and other digital content that is irrelevant to the user's interests and likenesses. Pages like are designed to abuse the push notifications of Web browsers to display countless advertisements that generate revenue for the page's administrator.

If you ever come across pop-ups that ask you to enable notifications, you should ignore their contents and leave the website immediately.
