FTP utilities are File Transfer Protocol applications that allow transmission of files from one computer (the client) to another (the host). FTP utilities are generally known to simply the transmission and receiving of files over the Internet, local networks, or to and from a connected storage device. P2P (Peer to Peer) programs sometimes have built-in FTP Utility programs to manage transmission of files. FTP client software programs are also known to be referred to as FTP Utilities, which enable the ability to transfer and manage remote or local files.
