uTab

The uTab is being detected as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by multiple major anti-virus products, and they all recommend its immediate removal since it offers nothing of value and, in the meantime, it also might trouble users by introducing unwanted changes to their Web browser's behavior and configuration. Programs like uTab are often promoted as useful utilities, but in reality, their true purpose is to bring traffic to a specific website, which might often be set as the default new tab page or search aggregator. In the case of uTab, the extension is programmed to replace the Google Chrome's default new tab page with a sponsored website.

The positive side is that there is nothing to worry about if you have installed uTab because this add-on is not unsafe. It can't cause harm, but it can diminish your Web browsing experience certainly by forcing you to use settings that you are not comfortable with. Thankfully, the removal of uTab is a swift solution to this problem.

If you wish to uninstall uTab and revert the changes it made, we suggest using a credible PC security software suite since this is the most efficient way to guarantee the full removal of uTab's components.
