Anonymous Hacker Group Wages Virtual War by Leaking Details of ISIS Recruiters and Members

Additionally, such groups are prone to starting a virtual war of their own when militants terrorize innocent victims, just as ISIS has done in the recent and unfortunate Paris, France attacks killing over 100 people.

In the recent events and actions of the Anonymous hacker group, they have declared war on ISIS militants by taking down over 3,800 of their Twitter accounts, and leaking ISIS member and recruiter names on a website, which may eventually assist law enforcement to bring many of them to justice.

Anonymous is outlandish in their actions of hacking certain companies and groups of people. The hacker group nearly goes to through extreme measures to ensure that those responsible for conducting behavior that they do not agree with will suffer dire consequences. ISIS, who has proven to be a serious threat to the civil humanity of the world through their deadly attacks, is being attacked by Anonymous through the internet. The hacktivist group is doing what they can to expose members of ISIS and list them on the Anonymous #opIceISIS website and Twitter account.

While Anonymous has now managed to take down over 5,000 Twitter accounts belonging to ISIS members and supporters, according to their latest Tweet, the hacker group is not backing down as they continue to leak the ISIS data to outlets like The Independent and on their #opIceISIS website. No one has verified that the ISIS member and recruiter data on the Anonymous website match what was given to a reporter at The Independent. However, with journalist having the information beforehand, it is possible that it could then find the proper law enforcement agencies to take action for seeking out ISIS militants.

Reportedly, a reporter from The Independent was provided with names and several personal details of numerous ISIS members. Some of the names belonged to active ISIS recruiters activating in Europe.

As the details unfold in the recent ISIS terrorist events, we will soon know whether Anonymous has proven to be a surprising ally among law enforcement and other agencies around the world who look to combat ISIS.

Who would have thought that hackers could be of assistance when it comes to battle terrorism around the world?
