INF/Autorun Description
INF/Autorun is a serious computer infection that is known to use Autorun.inf files in order to launch backdoor and Trojan horse infections automatically. INF/Autorun may be hidden on an executable file making it very difficult to detect and remove this infection. INF/Autorun may also spread through removable media such as USB flash drives and then infect another system that connects to the infected drive. INF/Autorun should be detected and remove with a spyware removal tool to insure you do not spread this dangerous infection onto other computers.

INF/Autorun Manual Removal Instructions
Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove INF/Autorun, you must first stop any INF/Autorun processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all INF/Autorun processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for INF/Autorun, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete INF/Autorun registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\INF/Autorun." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of INF/Autorun, you must manually remove other INF/Autorun files. These INF/Autorun files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, INF/Autorun might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\INF/Autorun\INF/Autorun.exe. Locate and remove these files.
