you must perform the removal in safe mode..when your computer first starts, press F8 then choose start in safe mode..open run command in start mode and type ‘ regedit’ ..Run this and then begin the removal of registry key value as explained at the top this page..

I’VE TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THIS OFF OF MY LAPTOP. HELP!!!!
Maybe I caught it early, but I deleted the desktop icon right away and removed it fr ‘Add/Remove’, then sent it to the ‘virus vault’ where it can’t harm anything. So far, so good. Scan after scan and no more SecurityShield. Also, I copied the virus name to my browser…lotsa info on that virus and others. Removal tool for this virus too, should show up when you ‘google’ it.

I managed to locate and remove the file as follows: In safe mode, I removed all of the files that i could named Security shield, then went to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce “[RANDOM CHARACTERS]” Random characters could be anything, it was “ywnpffq” in my registry, delete this file. Once the scan is complete, remove the file according to the program. Hope this helps
