| I will notify the FBI. that security was forcing me to buy ther product. Also made me do a full recovery of my system. It took over dos and I could not remove it easy. I was pissed that I have to do a full rercovery just to get it off. |

When this shows up on my CC bill, I am going to dispute the charge, and not pay it.

| Hi i JUST GOT SECURITY TOOLS AND THE WAY i FIXED IT WAS BY BOOTING IN SAFE MODE (BY PUSHING F8 AFTER THE BIOS SCREEN) AND RESTORING THE COMPUTER TO AN EARLIER DATE. iT CLEARED IT RIGHT UP. hOPE THIS HELPS CAUSE THESE FAKE SECURITY TOOLS REALLY SUCK. | Security Tool somehow got onto my computer, and now my desktop completely black. And whenever I try to download suggested anti-spyware, Security Tool keeps popping up with warnings and the files don't get downloaded. How do I get rid of this infuriating program? |

| Had this problem last night,yes it does what has already been said here!very nasty.
First Of all the virus hides your desktop,go on to your taskbar and right click,tick show desktop,your desktop icons will reappear,now the virus will untick it again everytime you try and open anything else,so keep checking the tasbar setting and make sure SHOW DESKTOP is ticked.
I found out that the program is to be found in DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS,ALL USERS,APPLICATIONSit is a hidden file,so to see it you must go to TOOLS at the top of your window,then scroll down to FILE OPTIONS,make sure you tick SHOW ALL FILES.
Now look for an 8 digit numbered folder,possibly two of them,make a note of these numbers,open each one you will see the offending ICON for the virus(blue sheild picture in my case)try right hand click,then delete,it may delete it may say cannot delete file being used,one file shoul delete easily(BatchFile),empty your recycle bin.
Now rename the virus folder say.....CRAPWARE.
Open REGEDIT using RUN(start menu bottom left)type in REGEDIT,your registry editor shoul come up on screen,go to EDIT(top left)go to FIND,put in one of the 8 digit numbers you found,the Registry editor will find any instances of that number,when it does,go to the right hand pane where it highlights that number,right hand click on it then delete,thenuse FINDNEXT under EDIT press enter,again when it finds it delete it.
Do this a couple of times with the same number,then look for the other 8 digit number and do the same delete them.
When the registry scan does not find anymore just come out of REGEDIT.
Try rebooting now go back to the virus folder(s) in DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS,ALL USERS,APPLICATIONS try deleting the suspect files,should work this time.
Do a full scan with your Anti-virus software and Spyware software,should work fine now.
Bearing in mind all the time I was doing this I had all the nasty pop windows,desktop icons diappearing,I just closed them with the cross top right corner of window and carried on....worked for me,hope it helps.

| I got rid of this pest be logging in on anither User ID and going to the Users folder and deleting the new Security Tool shortcut after noting the pointer to the executable. I then went to the executable and deleted that too. |

| sorry people the only way to get rid of this trojan is to reformat your hard drive.....before installing a fresh copy of windows you have to put all 0's in where the partion size is....if you cant reformat your hard drive yourself you will have to take it to a computer store and have them do it for you ....any atttempt to remove it in any other way security tool duplicates its self making it that much harder to remove..hope this helps..security tool should be sued |

| The progrm resides in documents and settings folder,open it,under TOOLS go folder options
set to see hidden folders.
look for APPLICATION folder ...open,you will find 2 folders with an 8 digit number,try deleting each folder,try renaming each folder.
Go to START menu run 'regedit'do a search for the 8 digit numbers,search again and again,delete all file swith those numbers and/or security tool name.
Do a search again until the search finds nothing.
Should be ok,do a full antivirus/spyware scan afterwards.

| Well its easy to remove, at upstart u pc click F8, run it in save mode, after upstart, run MSCOFIG, go to start, unclick the file called 87502527, the restárt, the program is now not starting up but still there, run spyware program, example adaware, and delete the files, run virus scan until all trojhan is gone, restart and u are good to go again. |

| I got a much easier way to remove the so called "security tool". it is much more easier and you dont need to download any programs. you just hold the power button untill the computer shuts down (not safely) and turn it back on you should get an "WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY" screen and boot the computer in SAFE MODE when you are logged on search for the downloaded file and delete it and turn it on again you should be ok this time |

3RD: ITS GOING TO LET YOU GO IN YOUR COMPUTER WITH OUT HAVING THAT SECURITY TOOL NOT LETTING YOU DO ANYTHING.
4TH: DELETE THE PROGRAM FROM EVERY WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT ON YOU PROGRAMS, DOCUMENTS, ETC. AND ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DELETE IT FROM THE RECYIN BIN.
HOPEFULLY YOU CAN COMPLETE THIS STEPS CORRECTLY I DID AND FINALLY GOT RID OF IT YAY ME........ |

| i used windows defender and ctl alt del for the taskbar....nothing else worked for me
i found the process running in the start menu and disabled it first and removed it from the start menu process.....boom rebooted and everything is fine now...
however getting it off of my computer as i am completely computer illiterate...will be another story...
save the shortcut on the menu and follow it to the folder that is the .exe file...that is the start...i have found nothng in the registry even though i know it is there...i ll deal with it later but atleast it is not running on my computer so far...

| Removing spyware is time consuming. Is there nobody who has the technology to track down the creators and eliminate them instead? I would gladly contribute to a suitable 'hit' |

| Simple solution to security tool removal.
I wasted 3 hours trying to get it then found this tip that worked perfect without buying something.
1 reboot computer in safe mode.
2 Choose previous restore point (maybe couple days back)
3 Reboot, serious pain in the but virus gone.
Restore points work well for this kind of stuff.

| i am trying to delete security tool of my laptop due to the fact that it wont allow me to do anything on my laptop or reset my computer. i will appreciate it if i was to receive helpfl information that will help me delete this software. and i mea DELETE since it wont go anywhere . |

| i DOWNLOADED THE FREE VERSION OF SPYHUNTER AND IT WORKED AND REMOVED SECURITY TOOL COMPLETELY INCLUDING BELOW FROM THE TASK BAR . i NO LONGER HAVE IT ON MY LAPTOP. THANK GOSH. GOOD LUCK !!! |
