14x Ransomware

Posted: January 12, 2021

The 14x Ransomware is a threatening implant that may cause significant trouble if it manages to compromise your computer successfully. The criminals behind this implant may be spreading it via fake downloads, pirated content, bogus email attachments or other shady types of files. Users can protect their computers from the 14x Ransomware and similar malware by using an up-to-date anti-malware tool.

If you fail to stop 14x Ransomware's attack, the threat may lock you out of important documents, archives, videos, and other files or media immediately. The threat does this by encrypting the contents of valuable files. These files are also renamed by adding the extension '.id-<VICTIM ID>.[axitrun@cock.li].14x. Last but not least, the 14x Ransomware will drop a ransom message, which can be found in the file 'FILES ENCRYPTED.txt.' It tells the victim that their data has been encrypted securely and that it can only be recovered by purchasing a special decryption tool from the perpetrators of the attack.

The 14x Ransomware is part of the Dharma Ransomware family – a file-locker that has been proven to be incompatible with free decryption tools. Unfortunately, the same applies to 14x Ransomware – its victims will not have access to free data decryption software.

The criminals want to be paid via Bitcoin, and they ask the victim to message them at axitrrun@cock.li or axitrun@tutanota.com for more information. You should not try to get in touch with them, however, because they may not agree to help unless you pay them first. Paying them is a bad idea, as there is a significant chance that you will not receive anything in return. Victims of the 14x Ransomware should consider using an anti-malware tool to terminate the threat and then experiment with popular data recovery tools.
