AdWare Pro 2008
AdWare Pro 2008 is a phony anti-spyware program that uses Trojans found in Video ActiveX Codec. AdWare Pro 2008 is a clone of AdWare Pro 2007. AdWare Pro 2008 pops up fake security alerts on your taskbar in order to trick or scare you into purchasing their software. Do NOT perform a full system scan with AdWare Pro 2008 and do NOT purchase the scam AdWare Pro 2008 program. The Trojan affiliated with this rogue may also import a large number of additional Trojans.

The file AdwareProv8.exe cannot be removed on my computer. I get the message "Windows cannot find 'AdwareProv8.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search.
Also when I click unstall AdwarePro I get the message:
"File "C:\Program Files\Adware Pro\unins000.dat" does not exist. Cannot uninstall."
If I have to reformat there is software that will cost me many hours to reload, not to mention the 30 or so itunes cds I'll have to reload. Apple won't let you transferr them. Yes I did buy and download AdwarePro thinking it was Adaware by lavasoft.
This AdwarePro is nasty stuff! Thanks for warning others. Is it too late for me?
