C-Center

Posted: January 15, 2010

C-Center is a newer version of the rogue anti-spyware application referred to as Control Center or CCenter. C-Center, just like its predecessor, is able to use deceiving tactics to fool computer users into thinking that they need to purchase the full C-Center application to remove detected threats. Not only are the threats supposedly detected by C-Center bogus, but they are non-existent on the computer C-Center is installed on.

C-Center is a forceful application that will repeatedly display fake parasite warning messages and carry out system scans that return fake results. C-Center should never be used for the security of any computer. It is recommended that C-Center be removed with a spyware detection tool to limit damages to the system.

Hi...I have a new acer aspire one....a control centre has been accidentally loaded onto it, which is preventing me total access to my start up menu. I have even tried safe mode...same thing.

How can I remove this when I can't even access things in safe mode ?

    thanks

I had this problem today - it opened with windows and I couldn't get rid of it.
Unaware that it was malware it didn't matter what I selected (except for the options tag) a pop up would appear prompting to me to pay $79 dollars to get rid of it. I then realized it was a sham. Eventually I selected all the options except "start up with windows" and saved them. On exiting the options menu it pop up appears "your computer might be damaged if you continue". I ignored it and then windows started normally without restarting the computer. When windows had was loaded did what you have recommended and cleared the program from the administrator files.
I did a registry scan then did a restore to a couple of days earlier. this has cured the problem. I have a professional Mcafee anti-virus installed with a personal firewall, which, makes me believe it was downloaded with a program
