New email address added to your account!

Posted: November 7, 2008

"New email address added to your account!" is one of the most insidious and clever email phishing scam schemes out there. "New email address added to your account!" is quite convincing, inconspicuous and does not appear to be alarming. "New email address added to your account!", however, does raise a red flag as it has no Paypal company logo on it. The link is well hidden and the email message is very credible which is what makes it so dangerous. "New email address added to your account!" pretends to be a legitimate email from Paypal requesting you to click on a link that directs you to a fraudulent site in order to steal your sensitive Paypal information and money from your account. The biggest tip off that this is a fraudulent scheme is the fact that Paypal does not send out such emails nor does any other legitimate reputable company.

If you receive this malicious email, do NOT respond or click on the link. Instead notify Paypal and forward the email to them. If you should accidentally respond and click on the link, notify Paypal IMMEDIATELY as the funds in your Paypal account could be in danger of financial loss.
