Hey. I had Security Shield on my laptop yesterday, but when I turned it on today, I cannot find it. It has disappeared. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if I should be worried about not being able to locate it??

I managed to locate and remove the file as follows: In safe mode, I removed all of the files that i could named Security shield, then went to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce "[RANDOM CHARACTERS]" Random characters could be anything, it was "ywnpffq" in my registry, delete this file. Once the scan is complete, remove the file according to the program. Hope this helps

Maybe I caught it early, but I deleted the desktop icon right away and removed it fr 'Add/Remove', then sent it to the 'virus vault' where it can't harm anything. So far, so good. Scan after scan and no more SecurityShield. Also, I copied the virus name to my browser...lotsa info on that virus and others. Removal tool for this virus too, should show up when you 'google' it.

you must perform the removal in safe mode..when your computer first starts, press F8 then choose start in safe mode..open run command in start mode and type ' regedit' ..Run this and then begin the removal of registry key value as explained at the top this page..
