Serious System Error

Posted: January 28, 2011

Serious System Error is a fake warning related to the HDD Doctor cyber scam. The bogus message comes in the form of a pop-up and is designed to deceive computer users to believe that their system is experiencing a "fatal system error". This is a blatant lie to advertise the rogue program HDDoctor, which is in fact a useless program which hackers use to pilfer money from hapless computer users.

Symptoms of this infection include your PC slowing down to a point where it may actually crash. Strange things will start happening to your desktop, like files appearing from nowhere and some also disappearing. The screen may also flip upside down and start flashing for no apparent reason.

Do not hand over any money to these scammers. Cyber crime is rife all over the Internet and rogue programs such as HDD Doctor, which produce these fake warnings, should be removed from the system immediately once detected. Computer experts recommend using a reliable anti-spyware program to detect and remove any malware present on the compromised system.
