Vista Antivirus 2010

Posted: August 31, 2009

Vista Antivirus 2010 is a fake spyware remover. Vista Antivirus 2010 infiltrates your computer via security exploits or backdoors provided by affiliated trojans, and once active, is configured to start running whenever Windows starts up. Vista Antivirus 2010 will then prompt you to scan your computer. When this fake scan is complete, various false security alert notifications and annoying pop-ups will be triggered, stating that your PC is infected. In order to combat this threat, you must purchase Vista Antivirus 2010.

My computer got infected with vista antivirus 2010 somehow. It changed the name of its process to AVE.exe. I tried closing this but it comes back automatically so I thought there must be another process to close. I accidentally closed the wrong one and my computer had to restart. Now I don't have access to any programs including my spyware terminator program and antiviruses. Now I'm stuck and don't know what to do. I tried restarting a few times to see if it would fix itself with no luck. I cant even open any restore points. However on the plus side ave doesnt pop up any more. Do you have any advice for me this is a nightmare!
