Win32:Rootkit-gen is a harmful rootkit infection that is able to hide its existence on the affected computer by pretending to be a legit Windows process. Win32:Rootkit-gen changes Windows settings to give outside hackers access to the compromised computer. Win32:Rootkit-Gen attempts to change system files and embed itself on them so that only one example of the process can be seen running on a victim's computer. Once inside the system, Rootkit-gen rootkit will activate malicious .exe and .dll files and multiple malware threats making the targeted computer work slowly. Win32:Rootkit-gen enters the PC system through infected gambling and porn related websites and unsolicited email advertisements. Win32:Rootkit-gen downloads destructive malware programs through Internet browser security loop holes. Win32:Rootkit-gen controls registry tracks and takes over browsing history and Windows activity to create matching pop-ups. Win32:Rootkit-gen records and disables firewall and anti-virus software and sends personal information such as user names, passwords, etc. to remote servers. Win32:Rootkit-gen is a serious privacy and security threat which should be deleted from your PC immediately after detection.
