Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Adware.Vapsup is a family of adware programs that use various methods to generate unwanted advertisements. Members of Adware.Vapsup, like BSG Ads, may use a variety of formats, including browser toolbar components or digital stock tickers, but always are specialized in the delivery of pop-up advertisements and other advertisements. Because Adware.Vapsup members may be installed by Trojans, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers strongly suggest the inclusion of anti-malware applications whenever you need to remove Adware.Vapsup or similar PC threats from your computer.
Adware.Vapsup: the Software that Forces You to Sup on Third-Party Advertisements
While legitimate advertisement-powered applications will allow you to control when they're installed and uninstalled like any other product, Adware.Vapsup distinguishes itself from these safe applications by using variants of the Zlob downloader Trojan as a favorite distribution mechanism. Zlob, by itself, doesn't show symptoms of its attacks and may continue to install multiple types of threats on your PC along with Adware.Vapsup, which makes the presence of Adware.Vapsup a potentially serious security problem – even when Adware.Vapsup doesn't have any intentional attacks that would cause definitive harm to your computer.
Like other adware families, Adware.Vapsup has been confirmed to use pop-ups, banners, text hyperlink injections and other advertisement-based attacks to display third party content in an automated fashion. Since these functions don't need your consent and are unlikely to be filtered for potentially harmful content, they also may expose you to phishing attacks, drive-by-downloads and other Web-based dangers, along with 'normal' advertisements. Members of the Adware.Vapsup family like BSG Ads often mark their content separately from that of any original websites you may be browsing, but you shouldn't assume on the presence of these delineations to protect you from Adware.Vapsup's third-party advertisements.
Although some members of Adware.Vapsup include toolbars and other browser add-on components, you shouldn't try to uninstall them through normal add-on removal methods. While using these methods may or may not be effective, they don't take into account the potential presence of additional threats or components of Adware.Vapsup that have been hidden deliberately to avoid deletion.
Going on an Advertisement-Free Web Surfer's Diet
Adware.Vapsup, like other kinds of adware, only is a minor threat to your PC. In spite of that, malware researchers also stresses that Adware.Vapsup does have known associations with Trojan downloaders like Zlob Trojans that may cause other problems besides advertisements, including installing backdoor Trojans and other high-level PC threats. Deleting Adware.Vapsup and related threats that usually are hidden from your observation should use any relevant anti-malware scanners, assuming that they're available.
Ironically, Adware.Vapsup also may be considered a blessing in disguise. Downloader Trojans often are capable of assisting with extremely invasive attacks that may steal bank account passwords or hijack your computer for botnet-based assaults. Without Adware.Vapsup, you may never notice a Zlob infection even when your PC is being harmed by it, but Adware.Vapsup's advertisements are an obvious clue that prompts you towards disinfecting your computer ASAP.
