Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The AnonCrack Ransomware is a file-encryption Trojan, which possesses the ability to leave its victims with a hard drive full of encrypted versions of their most important files. The good news is that the cyber crooks behind this project have opted to use the source code of HiddenTear as the foundation for their file-encryption Trojan, and this might allow victims to decrypt their data for free. While the HiddenTear decryptor should be compatible with the AnonCrack Ransomware, it is still possible that it may fail, so we can't say with 100% certainty whether all victims of the AnonCrack Ransomware will be able to recuperate their files.
Usually, file lockers are distributed via spam e-mails, but the authors of this threat have opted to use a more cunning technique – they promote a 'hacking' tool, which works as PayPal money generator. The unfortunate users who opt to download this utility might find out that they will not be getting any free money out of it, because just a minute after running the fake generator, they might end up seeing the ransom message provided by the AnonCrack Ransomware's authors.
When the AnonCrack Ransomware is launched, it will encrypt the contents of various documents, photos, archives, videos, songs and other file formats. Whenever a file is encrypted successfully, the encryption module will modify its name by appending the '.crack' extension. The ransom message is delivered via an image file, which is set as the default desktop wallpaper, and a text file stored in 'PAGO.txt.' Both messages are written in Spanish, which means that either the authors reside in a Spanish-speaking country or their primary targets will be mostly Spanish speakers. The attackers demand a payment of $30 via Bitcoins to provide the victim with a decryption utility. They also state that the price will be increased to $100 if the money is not received in the next 168 hours. Last but not least, the authors also have provided the address anoncrack@protonmail.com as a way to contact them.
We advise victims of the AnonCrack Ransomware to ignore the suspicious instructions of the attackers and take the matter into their own hands. The first and most necessary task is to remove the threat from the computer by using a reputable and up-to-date anti-virus scanning utility. Once this step is complete, it is recommended to run a free HiddenTear decryptor since this is very likely to help you get your files back.
