ScreenshotAntivirus2008Pro or also known as Antivirus 2008 Pro, is a clone of Antivirus 2008 which is well known as a rogue anti-spyware program. Antivirus2008Pro may be downloaded and installed through a Trojan infection that may have infiltrated your system by means of a browser security hole. If you have Antivirus2008Pro installed on your system then it will greet it's presence through multiple popup or system alert messages. This may drastically slow the performance of your system. Antivirus2008Pro is known to be difficult to manually remove. We strongly urge you to remove Antivirus2008Pro as soon as possible to avoid additional damage to your system.

Antivirus 2008 Pro has domains registered in Ukraine and Russia to promote the rogue anti-spyware program. Antivirus 2008 Pro is a clone of Antivirus 2008. As a precaution do not go to the following rogue websites: antivirus-2008-pro.com, antivirus-2008-pro.org, antivirus-2008-pro.net,antivirus-2008-pro.info, antivirus-2008pro.com, antivirus-2008pro.info, antivirus-2008pro.org, antivirus-2008pro.net, antivirus2008pro.com, antivirus2008pro.org, antivirus2008pro.net, antivirus2008pro.info

Once installed, Antivirus 2008 Pro will run a scan of your computer and generate exaggerated spyware threats which are usually false positives. When the scan is complete, the 'scan results' window appears which shows how many spyware threats your computer allegedly has. This tactic is an attempt to trick you into purchasing Antivirus 2008 Pro's commercial version. In addition, Antivirus 2008 Pro may generate annoying popup advertisements that may cause unstable system performance. Antivirus 2008 may be difficult to manually remove.

Hey, I'm in deep [REMOVED WORD] here, this stuff has incorporated my PC, it's scary how screwed I am right now. -It has blocked my Task Manager (supposedly my administrator (and that's me) has disabled this option for me) -The same thing with Registry Editor -My Start Menu is all screwed up (no Log Off/Run/Control Panel options, no programs) -I can't see or access my hard drives, therefore am unable to start anti-spyware program installation -My desktop is changing, now it has some weird window across an entire screen saying "Your privacy is in danger" -It got into my Safe Mode, so there won't be any salvation for me I have Kaspersky Internet Security 6, and I scanned my PC multiple times, removed some parts of this crap but obviously not all of it. Please help ASAP!!

HI all, I want to thank you all sincerely for all the posts to help remove this F*&*@$G malware I had three computers being infected at my home and I did whatvere was mentioned here including downloading the spyhunter and cleaning the registry. Make sure we follow everystep in cleaning the registry and unregistering the dlls as well. Once again Thanks to everyone who has taken efforts to write in here and i was able to clear this infection and throw it out of my laptop....it is really scary as it even starts controlling your desktop wallpapers and screensavers.

  • tiff says:

  • Mario says:

In response to Stefan's problem, I also got my start menu completely erased as you did. To get the icons and pathways back right click on the start button in the bottom left corner. Then go to Properties. This should open a little window and you should already be in the Start Menu tab. From here click on the Customize button that is to the right of Start Menu. Then click on the Advanced tab. In the middle of the window there should be a scroll down window that is called Start menu Items: Scroll down that list and recheck any items that are unchecked that you wish to put back in your start list. I hope this helps you get rid of your virus.

  • J. Smith says:

Ok, first of all, I'm experiencing all the same problems as stefan, I managed to get my start menu back however, but i can't seem to delete any of the antivirus2008 pro files, because they all seem to be read-only or something. I also can't get my task manager back, my administrator has blocked me from using it, so i can't delete any of the files that way... I also can't get to a single web-page no matter how good my connection is, so i am unable to download any spy-hunter software for a free scan. any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Kifyha says:

HI, my friend has the spyware antivirus 2008 pro on her computer since june 18th 2008. Her brother had removed her virus scan, the dvd-r burner drive and her microsoft office as well as other things trying to be mean. I tried to help her by search for it by name but on got the shortcuts. At this point I can't access her c drive or the removable drive, which only play and reads music CDs now because of the spyware. Also VIRUS ALERT! display where the date should be and the time stay in military time only. The spyware is hiding crucial hard drives needed to find and eliminate this problem. Even in safe mode the VIRUS ALERT! display where the date should be still keeps appearing. She can't even access the internet anymore since her icons are hidden. PLEASE HELP!!! Can her comp still be saved without a reboot. She can't even system restore since they are all infected with the virus dating back to June.

  • Peter Devonshire says:

this was a problem for a short while. The best way to deal with it is to go for system restore under PC help and tools. You need to select a date a few days before the problem became evident. It worked for me

  • William says:

I found if your screen is freezing, restart your computer and open the Registry Editor, go to Start > Run > type regedit and then press the "OK" button. Once you have the registry open select edit then find and enter "antivirus pro" and select find next. When it find the reg entry you need to then highlight the entry "000" and delete it. then close the registry and then begin the above steps in the removal process.

By removing that entry in the user key ,this should be the first place you find it, it stops the proces from chewing so much memeory and allows you to open your system back up.

  • armando hysong says:

I have a little problem with anitivirus pro. I popped up on my computer and I have not downloaded it and I can not find it anywhere on my computer system. I tried to get on internet explorer and I keeps going to blank page and not letting me get to a web page and if it does it will only let me stay on page for a few secs. how can I get it off without installing it.

  • Jon says:

this info is useless as the spyware program doesn't let into any of these places, running it safe mode now and none of the processes are going of course so I can't delete them so now I'm trying the registery. can there be a class action law suit against this company?
