BleachGap Ransomware
The BleachGap Ransomware is a file-locker capable of rendering your files inaccessible. After the criminals manage to damage the victim's files, they drop a ransom message asking them to pay a ransom fee and promise to provide them with a decryption utility in return. Files damaged by the BleachGap Ransomware have the suffix '.lck' added to their names. For unknown reasons, the BleachGap Ransomware drops 100 identical ransom notes on compromised systems – they use the names Pay2Decrypt1.txt, Pay2Decryp2.txt, and so on until Pay2Decrypt100.txt.'
Users may end up interacting with the BleachGap Ransomware accidentally because this threatening application is promoted through fake advertisements and downloads, torrent trackers, pirated content and other suspicious files. The best way to keep your system and data protected is to invest in reputable anti-virus software that will monitor for potentially harmful files actively.
The authors of the BleachGap Ransomware ask to be paid 0.0002 Bitcoin, and they provide a wallet address, where the money should be transferred to. The criminals also warn their victims that they have five days to comply. Otherwise, their data will be damaged permanently. They do not offer any proof that their decryption tool works, nor do they provide contact details –you should not trust them, because you will probably be scammed if you try to meet their demands.
Victims of the BleachGap Ransomware need to run an anti-virus scanner to stop the BleachGap Ransomware. After this, they need to start restoring files from a backup or try alternative data recovery utilities.
