Dodger Ransomware
The Dodger Ransomware is a strange file-encryption Trojan that may not be your typical ransomware because its authors do not appear to offer a decryptor. Instead, they have left a short but straight-to-the-point message to their victims – to send hate email to omegax0@protonmail.com. Thankfully, this ransomware is yet to be seen in the wild so that it is possible that it might have been made for testing purposes, and the author is not planning to spread it yet.
Despite being somewhat of an unfinished product, the Dodger Ransomware is still able to encrypt specific file formats by using a Rijndael (Advanced Encryption Standard) key. Recovering these files is impossible without the assistance of the attackers, but there is no way to know whether they will be willing to help for free or not.
The only way to undo the damage done by the Dodger Ransomware for free is to restore the locked files from a backup. If this is not an option, you could resort to the services of data recovery programs – but do keep in mind that they may not deliver excellent results. Last but not least, do not forget that your primary task is to remove the threatening software with the use of an up-to-date security tool.
