DoubleLocker

DoubleLocker, also known as Android/DoubleLocker.A, is a malware threat that has been found on Android devices acting as ransomware. With DoubleLocker being a ransomware threat that attacks Android devices, it is among one of the first of its kind that is designed to extort money through actions of preventing users access to their device and making demands for them to pay a fee to restore access.

DoubleLocker ransomware is somewhat similar to ransomware threats that have attacked PCs as of late but it looks to primarily attack Android devices where it encrypts the data on the device and changes the devices PIN number for access. After infecting an Android device, DoubleLocker will relay a note to the user that they must pay a ransom fee via PayPal or other methods to regain access.

Paying the fee may or may not relinquish the proper code or method for restoring access as DoubleLocker is an outright scam. Those who find their Android device affected by DoubleLocker they should take action to eliminate the threat by using an antimalware resource for their device. In other situations, it may be necessary to root the device essentially wiping out all data and then restoring the Android operating system and apps.
