Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The DVDVideoSoft Toolbar is a Potentially Unwanted Program and browser hijacker that modifies your browser's homepage and search settings to promote Search.Conduit.com and other Conduit-affiliated websites, similar to the OurWorld Toolbar or the DivX Browser Bar. Although your PC is not immediately threatened by the sites that the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar redirects your browser towards, its browser modifications are not beneficial and usually should be considered a justification for removing the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar from your computer. A total removal of the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar's browser modifications may require the use of anti-malware programs that are capable of safely reversing its changes while also deleting all files related to the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar.
When Your Video Converter is a Conduit to... Conduit
The Conduit Ltd company has a habit of using a diverse range of browser add-ons to promote its websites, and the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar is one more example of such to add to the history books. Unlike many other Conduit toolbars that use independent distribution, the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar is distributed along with a variety of functional utility programs, such as video converters, audio converters and YouTube tools. However, a careless installation of DVDVideoSoft's software also will install the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar, which makes unrelated changes to your browser's search settings and homepage settings.
The DVDVideoSoft Toolbar's changes may lock your homepage to an arbitrary site without your consent, as well as redirecting your searches, all of which are changes that ignore your browser's internal settings. Malware researchers also have noticed a small series of other issues related to the DVDVideoSoft company, including a minority of incidents where their download links included other PC threats besides the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar such as variants of the Katusha Trojan. However, the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar does not have any Trojan capabilities of its own and does not harm your PC other than by modifying your Web browser.
Being Hard on DVDVideoSoft Software to Get Your PC Back to Normalcy
Since the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar makes changes to your browser that generally aren't considered justifiable in any circumstances, malware experts do suggest removing the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar rather than allowing the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar to continue determining the settings for your homepages and search engines. Additionally, based on DVDVideoSoft's history, you also may wish to consider the use of anti-malware programs both for deleting the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar easily and for making sure that other DVDVideoSoft downloads don't contain any other hidden 'surprises'.
While keeping a safe distance from possible problems with the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar is commendable, Conduit websites and related PC threats are not so easily evaded that refusing to download the DVDVideoSoft Toolbar is a sufficient defense. As examples of the variety of toolbars with attacks to DVDVideoSoft Toolbar's own, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers also can point out browser add-ons including the Utorrent Toolbar, the KeyBar Toolbar, Internet Helper, the Vuze Toolbar and PUP.Optional.SearchProtect.A.
