Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

GetDiscountApp is adware, or software that modifies your browsers for loading new advertising content. Although its promotional descriptions may claim that these advertisements provide significant shopping benefits to viewers, malware analysts found few advantages from GetDiscountApp, which is likely to exercise poor judgment in providing affiliated content. With exceptions for PC users who are sure of GetDiscountApp's feature benefits, you should consider deleting GetDiscountApp via good anti-adware tools to protect your PC from third party attacks.
The Problems of Discount GetDiscountApp Advertisements
GetDiscountApp, a likely clone of BestDiscountApp and previous adware, is a browser add-on that delivers advertisements without any regard for standard advertisement-blocking software. As with BestDiscountApp, GetDiscountApp may modify the Web pages as your browser loads them to host new content, which may extend to:
- GetDiscountApp may redirect your browser to advertisements after you click a link to an unrelated website.
- GetDiscountApp may load advertisements unrelated to the site you're viewing, such as banners or other graphical content.
- GetDiscountApp may provide product comparisons and other, seemingly 'relevant' content chosen according to keywords scanned from the relevant websites.
- GetDiscountApp also may modify the browser's text HTML to host additional links to its affiliate advertisers.
Although you may see BestDiscountApp in multiple browsers, including Firefox, so far, malware analysts only have verified GetDiscountApp's installation for the Chrome browser. In most cases, GetDiscountApp is installed with the format of a visible browser extension, but incomplete deletion (most often occurring through manual efforts) may remove GetDiscountApp's program entries, but not its browser advertisements.
GetDiscountApp's company doesn't deliver advertisements with the intent of harming their viewers' PCs. However, prior adware potentially associated with GetDiscountApp does have historical ties with incidental attacks, including fake software updates that could include threats. PC users dealing with GetDiscountApp advertisements should remain alert to common attacks delivered through advertisement networks, including suspicious update recommendations.
Getting Your Advertisement-Free Internet Back from GetDiscountApp
Although Chrome has long held a reputation for security in the modern consciousness, it scarcely is immune to even low-level adware like GetDiscountApp. While GetDiscountApp isn't threatening software, GetDiscountApp does have some characteristics in common with threats, including being difficult to delete from your PC by standard removal methods. Closing your browser, running system scans from within Safe Mode and using proper anti-adware tools for deleting GetDiscountApp can offer increased surety of this adware's permanent removal.
You may install GetDiscountApp from its website, but most adware installs itself through bundles with other applications. Malware analysts recently found evidence of GetDiscountApp, along with other adware, being installed through fraudulent 7Zip installers. PC users interested in getting new programs should make a point of avoiding download sources where the products they offer may be GetDiscountApp, rather than what their names proclaim them to be.
