Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The Hypercam Toolbar is a Potentially Unwanted Program bundled with Hypercam, a movie-recording product with free, but limited functionality. Regardless of how helpful you may find Hypercam to be, malware researchers would consider removing the Hypercam Toolbar to be a good idea for keeping your browser in your control. The Hypercam Toolbar is noted for hijacking your homepage, redirecting Web searches and being unnecessarily difficult to remove. Although a Hypercam Toolbar isn't a major threat to your computer like a Trojan or worm, its mere presence on your PC is a minor security concern that should be combated with the appropriate use of PC security software.
The Hypercam Toolbar: Putting Its Hyperactivity Towards Monkeying with Your Browser
Although the Hypercam Toolbar is not classified as a threat, the Hypercam Toolbar uses rather misleading methods of getting onto your PC, by being bundled with the Hypercam program and, in some cases, even installing itself regardless of whether or not you've attempted to opt out of its additional software. Since Hypercam, itself, makes limited mention of this bundle or the practical side effects of a Hypercam Toolbar, PC users looking for a new movie-recording application may slip into a trap that ends up with their browser getting hijacked. The actual Hypercam utility included with the Hypercam Toolbar is functional, although malware experts can't comment on its overall value.
The Hypercam Toolbar is especially noted for redirecting its users to Bigseekpro.com, a website previously examined by malware researchers. This is completely in keeping with past marketing efforts by Bigseekpro.com, which uses software bundles with 'legitimate' small-time applications to acquire browser-hijacked traffic. Despite the Hypercam Toolbar's tendency to be installed by default, the Hypercam Toolbar isn't a mandatory component of Hypercam; avoiding the Hypercam Toolbar while still using the related Hypercam product is entirely possible, albeit more difficult than it should be.
Calming Down the Browser Mods of a Hypercam Toolbar
Since the Hypercam Toolbar doesn't have any real benefits to your browser and, certainly, no benefits that possibly could counterbalance its browser hijacks, malware researchers consider the removal of any Hypercam Toolbar to be a basic matter of maintaining PC security. Competent anti-malware products should be able to detect most bundled versions of the Hypercam Toolbar, which, as noted previously, may install this toolbar – no matter which options you select or uncheck. While the Hypercam movie-recording product doesn't include the Hypercam Toolbar's browser-hijacking functions, it generally is wisest to use applications that aren't associated with Potentially Unwanted Programs.
Along with using anti-malware tools to find the Hypercam Toolbar before the Hypercam Toolbar is installed, similar products also can be used to make sure that deleting a Hypercam Toolbar goes as smoothly as possible. Browser hijackers of most brands, including the Hypercam Toolbar, have shown various degrees of resistance to being deleted, and often will not undo all of their browser changes when they're uninstalled by normal means.
