Search Manager is a Potentially Unwanted Program whose installation may lead to undesired changes to your favorite Web browser's settings. Once Search Manager is installed, it may change your Web browser's default homepage and new tab page to a custom search engine associated with Search Manager. The new page claims to provide better search features, as well as the ability to customize its appearance by choosing a different background. In fact, this is exactly what Search Manager is advertised for – a Web browser extension able to improve the user's experience by providing better search features and customizable search engine appearance.

However, the installation of Search Manager may not be a good idea since this extension may force users to use the services of a particular search engine. Apart from doing this, the extension also may work as a browser hijacker that monitors the Web browser's settings continuously to ensure that users will not be able to revert their homepage and new tab page settings.

The Search Manager extension may be found in software bundles that advertise it as a useful utility that can change the way users search the Web. However, the only thing it does is change the user's default homepage, new tab page and search engine to Srch.bar, a low-quality search engine that delivers results via the Yahoo's Search API. If you see Srch.bar whenever you open your Web browser or if you recall installing the Search Manager extension, then we advise you to consider removing these potentially unwanted intruders with the help of an anti-malware scanner.
