SearchSystem is the name of a bogus Mac application that uses a name that might leave users with the impression that it is associated with an important search service. In reality, SearchSystem has nothing to do with enhancing your Mac's search feature and, instead, it carries out adware activity that will make your Web browsing sessions less enjoyable. The advertisements that SearchSystem spawns may invade all Web browsers installed on your computer, and arrive in different forms – banners, pop-ups, hyperlinked words, etc. Unfortunately, Macs have become a very attractive target for adware developers, and we advise all Mac users to be vigilant for advertisements that seem out of place or appear on sites that usually do not have advertisements. If you spot such behavior, then you should run a Mac-compatible anti-malware application to identify and remove the culprit.
