Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Trojan.maljava!gen3 is a generalized detection for JavaScript exploits that are associated with the Trojan.Maljava family. Because SpywareRemove.com malware research team has often found such exploits to be linked to attempts to install malicious software, it's recommended that you immediately scan your PC after any possible contact with Trojan.maljava!gen3 or similar Java-based attacks. If you don't have adequate anti-malware software on your PC, Trojan.maljava!gen3 alerts may not trigger, since Trojan.maljava!gen3 uses a preinstalled script package's functions to enable its attacks. Common payloads for exploits like Trojan.maljava!gen3 can include password-stealing spyware, search engine-redirecting browser hijackers and rootkits, among other possibilities.
Trojan.maljava!gen3 – a Little Member of a Big Family of Exploits
Trojan.maljava!gen3 is a heuristic or behavior-based identification of malicious JavaScript exploits, similar to Trojan.maljava!gen1, Trojan.maljava!gen2, Trojan.maljava!gen4, Trojan.maljava!gen5 or Trojan.maljava!gen6. In some cases, Trojan.maljava!gen3 alerts may be unintentional false positives, although keeping both anti-malware software and Java updated will help to keep this possibility at a minimum. Under normal circumstances, Trojan.maljava!gen3 is used to attack your PC in some fashion – with the typical aim being to install another PC threat directly onto your hard drive. Unless you're certain that a Trojan.maljava!gen3 warning is a fake positive, SpywareRemove.com security analysts recommend that you analyze your PC with anti-malware software as soon as you see any Trojan.maljava!gen3-related warnings.
Because Trojan.maljava!gen3 requires the presence of JavaScript to launch its attacks, SpywareRemove.com malware experts also mention that taking Java-related precautions can help to make your PC relatively bulletproof to Trojan.maljava!gen3 attacks. Disabling Java completely (or not having Java installed at all) will likewise disable Trojan.maljava!gen3, although this may cause some unwanted behavior in various Java-based sites or applications. If you intend to keep JavaScript enabled, it's recommended that you also keep it updated, since outdated versions of Java are often targeted by patched vulnerabilities like the ones that Trojan.maljava!gen3 uses.
How to Know If You're in Danger of Trojan.maljava!gen3 Attacks
Java-based attacks like Trojan.maljava!gen3 are often hosted on malicious websites, and any PC that regularly uses web browsers should be considered in danger of potential Trojan.maljava!gen3 attacks. SpywareRemove.com malware experts have indicated that Trojan.maljava!gen3 is designed for most versions of Windows, including XP, Vista, Server 2003, 2K and NT. Although Trojan.maljava!gen3 may be unable to function in some other OSes, such as Macs or Windows 7, similar Java exploits have been known to target these platforms.
Some PC security companies only developed a definition for Trojan.maljava!gen3 in April of 2012. If your anti-malware software uses a database that's older than the above date, it may be unable to detect Trojan.maljava!gen3 even if you scan your computer. Updating to the latest available database is always encouraged by SpywareRemove.com malware researchers as a means of defense against Trojan.maljava!gen3 and similar PC threats.
