Trojan.Maljava is a general label that's used for malicious JavaScript files that use Java-based vulnerabilities to attack your PC through your web browser. Although Trojan.Maljava can be spread in quite a few different ways, SpywareRemove.com malware analysts have linked recent Trojan.Maljava attacks to fake e-mail ticket confirmation messages that have been sent to random e-mail addresses. Due to this surge in Trojan.Maljava proliferation by e-mail, it's recommended that you take particular care to avoid clicking on suspicious e-mail site links. Keeping Java up-to-date to eliminate recently-discovered vulnerabilities and using competent anti-malware programs can also help to prevent Trojan.Maljava infection. If worse comes to worst, remove Trojan.Maljava from your PC when it's required. Because Trojan.Maljava is a generalized detection name, symptoms of Trojan.Maljava infection may vary, and you should use suitable anti-malware programs to detect and delete Trojan.Maljava.

Don't Be Too Quick to Accept Trojan.Maljava's Fake Tick

As a general JavaScript-based attack, Trojan.Maljava can be distributed in the same ways that JavaScript itself can be distributed – typically via malicious websites or advertisements. Using an operating system that doesn't support JavaScript or using security settings that can prevent JavaScript from automatically running can help to protect your PC from Trojan.Maljava attacks. In most cases, Trojan.Maljava attacks will not have visible signs of their activities, and you may not be able to detect Trojan.Maljava at all without alerts from appropriate anti-malware software.

As of late November 2011, SpywareRemove.com malware research team has found that many Trojan.Maljava attacks have been especially-linked to spam e-mail links that are disguised as airline ticket confirmations. Although a spam message that propagates Trojan.Maljava may look like a realistic ticket confirmation, you should be able to notice that the link redirects you to an unusual website. A simple way to thwart this attack is to avoid clicking on e-mail links – instead, navigate to any given website by directly-typing the web address into your navigation bar to confirm or debunk the legitimacy of the e-mail message.

When Your Defenses Against JavaScript Abuses Falter

If you visit a site that hosts Trojan.Maljava, your browser may be attacked by default, regardless of any other actions that you take (or don't take) on the guilty site. These attacks can be used to install other forms of malicious software, ravage your computer's security settings, block access to anti-malware software, hijack your web browser or steal private information. If you suspect that your browser has come into contact with a suspicious site, you should assume that your PC may be infected and scan your entire system with a trustworthy type of anti-malware program.

Updating JavaScript to its latest release can help to reduce if not totally eliminate these Java-based vulnerabilities that are exploited by Trojan.Maljava. In most cases, actually deleting Trojan.Maljava shouldn't be done manually, since most Trojans will attempt to alter basic Windows files and hide themselves to resist removal. Improper deletion of Trojan.Maljava may cause serious damage to Windows although effective removal with a dedicated anti-malware application should leave no traces of Trojan.Maljava's former presence on your PC.
