VASA LOCKER Ransomware
The VASA LOCKER Ransomware is a piece of malware that you do not want to come across. While many other malware attacks can be prevented by running an anti-virus tool to remove the source of the problem, the VASA LOCKER Ransomware will cause long-lasting damage to your files. Even if you manage to remove the VASA LOCKER Ransomware successfully, you will still be unable to access many of your files since their contents have been encrypted by the VASA LOCKER Ransomware.
Threats of this type are often spread via fake downloads, torrent trackers and shady file downloads. The best way to stay safe from their attacks is to keep your system protected by an up-to-date anti-virus software suite, as well as by maintaining up-to-date backups of your files.
When the VASA LOCKER Ransomware infects a system successfully, it will use a complicated file-encryption algorithm to lock the contents of media, documents, archives, databases and many other files. The locked files will have their names altered with the extension '__NIST_K571__.' Last but not least, the malware will drop the ransom message 'DECR.TXT' on the victim's desktop.
The hackers promise to provide the victim with a decryptor, as soon as they agree to pay some money via Bitcoin, the criminals ask their victims to message them at babukrip@protonmail.ch for more information on how to complete the payment. If the VASA LOCKER Ransomware has damaged your files, we assure you that trusting the criminals is a bad idea. Instead, use an anti-malware tool to eliminate the threat and then look for other data recovery tools and methods.
