Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The Vtools Toolbar is a Potentially Unwanted Program that makes non-beneficial changes to your browser to promote sponsored websites. Like any PUP, the Vtools Toolbar is a mild obstacle to your efficient use of your Web browser and may be a minor security threat but isn't malware along the level of a Trojan, fake Police Trojan or spyware program. These issues coupled with the Vtools Toolbar's overall poor showing of beneficial features causes malware experts to recommend removing a Vtools Toolbar in any normal circumstance, with anti-malware software being recommended to delete any unwanted browser changes along with all of the Vtools Toolbar's components.
The Toolbar with All the Tools for Making Surfing the Web Troublesome
The Vtools Toolbar is a browser add-on that usually is not distributed by itself, and, instead, is installed in software bundles that use other application names to lure in victims, only revealing the installation of Vtools Toolbar during the actual install process (or after the fact). One way or another, after the Vtools Toolbar is installed, the Vtools Toolbar will set your browser to a search engine of its choice (usually Yahoo).
Besides choosing your search engine for you, the Vtools Toolbar also monitors your Web-browsing habits with respect to the sites you visit and the search terms you choose. This information is transferred back to the Vtools Toolbar's company and used to determine which advertisements the Vtools Toolbar displays in your browser. Some versions of the Vtools Toolbar also may install components of related PUPs such as the Spigot Toolbar.
A Concrete Solution to a Virtual Tools Problem
Although the Vtools Toolbar doesn't attempt to steal any highly confidential information from your computer or launch any direct attacks against its security, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers do recommend removing the Vtools Toolbar, like all PUPs, to keep your browser as firmly under your personal control as possible. Being certain of removing the Vtools Toolbar and all related browser add-ons/modifications may require using anti-malware applications that are able to detect concealed components of such software even if Potentially Unwanted Programs are not distinctly identified as malicious programs.
SpywareRemove.com malware experts have not found any publicly available stand-alone installers for the Vtools Toolbar, leading to them to estimate that the Vtools Toolbar is being installed in software bundles. These bundles often may be avoided by staying away from sites with poor reputations from peddling unwanted software, scanning suspicious files before launching them and looking through any offered installation options carefully.
