Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Windows Police PRO is a malicious program whose main goal is to trick people into purchasing its licensed version. Using affiliated trojans to infiltrate a computer without your knowledge or permission, and when installed and active, Windows Police PRO displays annoying popup system warnings and system tray alerts reporting viruses that can allegedly damage your confidential data and deteriorate the system performance. Windows Police PRO also runs fabricated security scanners that return scan results full of spyware applications, trojans, worms and other malware. All the above alerts and scans attempt to mislead you into thinking you have serious PC risks and need to handle them using Windows Police PRO commercial version. Thus, it is suggested you purchase and install the licensed version of Windows Police PRO.

I successfully deleted police pro but now I can't access any of my programs - at least not directly. I can't open firefox from the firefox icon, for example, but if i click on an html document, firefox opens and works just fine.
How can I repair my other programs so that they'll open and run like they're supposed to?
Windows Police pro will not let me get into anything on my computer the only thing that comes up is the police pro asking to buy there protection. What can I do?
I cannot run any anit spyware at all it always says no file found i cannot access task manager to delete police pro I cannot access add/remove programs etc everything is messed u am i doomed?? please help
I have followed all the directions to REMOVE the Police Pro, it will not let me. It tells me "Acces is Denied" (Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use). What else can I do before I lose all my valuable information??
This has to be THE most annoying malware i've ever had to deal with. While the other fake anti-virus programs tend to not allow you to run any anti-virus programs, this one does not let you run ANYTHING, when ever you try to run something it tells you that it is infected.
i used to have windows antivirus now it turned into windows police pro. it wont let me open anything except for doucuments. i cant open add/remove programs or malware remover.i think it may have updated itself to make it so i cant open anything i need to remove it. what do i do?
THIS WAS THE WORST I EVER EXPERIANCED ON MY COMPUTER THIS VIRUS IS THE DEVIL
THANKS IF YOU CAN GET RID OF IT FOR ME.
THIS INFO WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL REMOVING WINDOWS POLICE PRO.....I DID IT FREE!! MAKE SURE YOU TRY TO STOP ALL THE ERROR PROCESSES AND WINDOWS POLICE PROCESSES, THEN GO IMMEDIATELY TO C:\WINDOWS\PROGRAM FILES AND GET RID OF ANY *POLICE* FILES AND SAME WITH C:\WINDOWS\PREFETCH GET RID OF desote.exe
svchasts.exe
dbsinit.exe
windows Police Pro.exe
GOOD LUCK AND MAY YOU WIN!
My experience - (Dell Inspiron - Windows XP)
"Windows" Police PRO has taken over my laptop. - I realized it was bogus immediately - but could not find where it had nested. I locked down my firewall so that nothing else could come through. I used my 2 of my virus protection services and they detected the WBP viruses (multiple) - though did not name the virus' except to say they were Trojans. .....
I was then caught in a permanent loop.
WhenI was able to finally able isolate it through MacAfee it responded with " .... cannot be removed, nor quarantined .... "
I then unfortunately reconnected to the interenet trying to get additional software to remove this - I now cannot do anything - everything I try to open - Norton, MacAfee - Ad-Aware - is immediately blocked by Windows Police PRO .
I found the WPP folder in my programs folder - it will not allow me to delete or remove it through the control panel ..... message "program is being used and cannot be removed at this time."
Computer also displays a large black rectangle in the middle of screen "Your compute is infected - you must start virus scan immediately ..." which of course takes one to the constantly open window forcing you to purchase this spyware.
aarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.
IT WILL NOT LET MY DESKTOP START UP
Once you use Mac Affee and it catches the trojans associated with this virus, and you clean the virus removal it kills all exe. files. Everytime I tried too pull up a program a empty black exe. box appeared. With Windows XP it also shuts down Add and Remove programs so you can not get in there and remove it. Also if you go in Search and type in Windows Police, it will pull up the files but you can not delete them until the desote.exe is deleted.
Help, I have tried for 5 hours trying to get this spyware off my computer. It bypassed my virus scan and crippled my desktop. I have no idea how to get rid of it. I can\'t even download a spyware program to quarantine it.
This is a nasty critter. When I attempted to run the regedit, while the Police Pro was running, it treated regedit.exe as if it were an infected file and would allow it to run. I brought up the Task manager and shut down the process, but it came back up before I had the chance to run the regedit. Thought I'd out smart and try to start the regedit from the cmd prompt. It treated that the same way, as if it was infected. I was able to run the regedit by pulling up the Run box and typing regedit, then shutting down the process and quickly starting the edit. Once the registry editor was open, it was just a matter of hunting down the bad keys and whacking them. After clearing the registry, I restarted in Safe mode and deleted the directory. This may be unrelated or not, but the add / remove software icon in the control panel isn't working now. Don't know if this is related to this beasty or not. This is on an XP box.
Hi,
I was in internet when I was atacted by program with a name Windows Police Pro.
It stops me from work with my; laptop. I would like somebody to remove this program from my laptop.

You can't any kind of programs with this crap because it blocks them all out.
I can't even boot into safe mode to do anything.

I also even tried to rei- install windows xp on my computer, but because of the program it want even let me do that, I do not wish to purchase the program then turn aroung only to dispute it, because I could not get it off, could you please help me, my daughter has to use the computer for school work, and I am having to use my sisters computer to write you this letter
I have tried to purchase "Windows Police Pro" and need to remove it from a different computer. When I hit "ctrl-alt-del" it give me the two following messages.

The file or directory \WINDOWS\Prefetch\TASKMGR.EXE-20256C55.pf is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.
and
Task Manager
Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator.
What do I need to do to get that computer running?
