ScreenshotXP SecurityCenter, also known as XPSecurityCenter and XP Security Center, is a rogue anti-spyware program that hides itself under a Window's legitimate software. XP Security Center installs on your computer with the help of a Trojan called Zlob. Once you're infected, Zlob will issue an exaggerated amount of popups and fake security warning messages to "inform" you about supposed spyware infections. XP Security Center has a fake system scanner that may be used to emulate a system scan and display a list of scan results with bogus threats found on your system. XP Security Center uses these measures only to trick you into purchasing a rogue anti-spyware program for $44.95.

Do not click on any link provided by XP SecurityCenter because it may redirect you to XP Security Center's website (XPSecurityCenter.com) to further download the full XP SecurityCenter program to remove the supposed threats. XP SecurityCenter infects your computer without your knowledge and may recreate itself. XP Security Center is related to IE Defender.

These look like good instructions, however, I no longer have search capabilities nor can I access a DOS window. I downloaded and ran Spyhunter antivirous and the Mechanic. It look like it deleated a lot of things, but the problem is still there. I believe the problem is the XPSecurityCenter or more. What can I do next?

I had this problem with my PC. However, the way I got rid of it was to find the name of the file through task manager in my case ouv.exe. Stopped it temporally using task manager. Located the file deleted it. But as it associated it's self with all the ms office programs, they would not run. So picked a restore point which I knew the pc was not infected and rebooted, problem solved. I run Vista.
