Anonymous Hacker Group Initiates OpIstanbul Aggression on ISIS to Vindicate Turkey Airport Attack

ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria terrorist group responsible for the Istanbul airport attack killing 44 and injuring over 200 people, has cast a dark shadow on the world in the recent months with their terror. With ISIS taking claim of conducting the recent attack at Istanbul's airport, the Anonymous hacker group has set out to relaunch attacks against them in a string of online account take-downs, much how Anonymous has done in the past after other ISIS attacks.

Shortly after the Istanbul airport attack, Anonymous took to YouTube to post a video (posted below) in response to relaunching their attack efforts against ISIS. The last time Anonymous was actively seeking ISIS through the internet to bring down a multitude of their accounts was right after the Belgium attacks in March.

ISIS has had an active presence on the Internet in the form of many Twitter accounts, which Anonymous has primarily targeted in response to the terrorist group carrying out recent attacks. In what is being dubbed as the OpIstanbul campaign, Anonymous is seeking ISIS-owned accounts on the internet and bringing them down or at least deface them to expose the terrorist group's future plans, combinations, and even members. Much of the data gathered by Anonymous is an effort on their part to attack ISIS-owned websites, forums, and various social media accounts.

Anonymous has been steadily at the forefront of attacking those that they have a strong opposition against their fundamental views. ISIS, for many obvious reasons, is not on the good side of many groups, including Anonymous. In recent "attacks" against ISIS and other entities, Anonymous has received a bit of ridicule for their failed or weak efforts of hacking. To change that notion, Anonymous has ramped up their efforts to actual hack data belonging to ISIS and expose it on many of their social media accounts and websites.

As a strike directly in the heart of ISIS, Anonymous plans to leak personal effects of ISIS. Doing such may have similar results to when ISIS suffered a major blow when one of its own members left the group and leaked personal details of about 22,000 ISIS recruits. If Anonymous is able to do something similar in the OpIstanbul attack campaign, it could seriously undermine the terrorist group and cripple them on the front of their cyber-defenses.
