Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Newzio is an adware program that loads advertising content into your browser. Although, if Newzio is installed ordinarily, Newzio shouldn't be much of a danger to your PC, Newzio has a history of being installed with other PUPs and threats that may interfere with your Web-browsing settings and sound settings. Like all adware, Newzio also is a prospective security issue due to the potential for its loading advertisements with compromised content, and also may have a negative effect on Web-browsing performance. With so many downsides and so little upsides as counterweights, malware researchers see no issues in recommend deleting Newzio as the habitual reaction to seeing its advertisements in your browser.
Newzio: the News is 'More Advertisements for Your Web Browser'
The enormous profits of adware programs, combined with their general undesirability from the user's point of view, makes the development of new adware-based browser add-ons a bustling industry. While this industry isn't as harmful as, for example, the banking Trojan industry, it does result in new adware like Newzio, which has no benefits to your browsing experience but does provide various negatives. Recent Newzio installations usually are paired with other adware products, such as LiveLyrics. Newzio usually isn't installed through consensual downloads but may be bundled with other programs or, in the worst cases, installed by actual threats, such as the Zlob Trojan downloader.
Newzio makes changes to your browser that allow Newzio to display advertisements in unrelated sites and separate pop-up windows, with Chrome and Firefox being the most likely to be modified (although similar adware programs also are compatible with Internet Explorer and Safari). Many PC users also report issues with Master Volume controls and unusual behavior from their browser's memory processes, both of which may be indicative of Trojans supporting Newzio's advertising campaign. By itself, Newzio only should be threatening for its ability to load unsafe Web content by accident in lieu of normal advertisements.
Turning a Newzio Browser Bug into a Browser Zero
Since malware experts regularly observe adware programs unwittingly distributing PC threats including drive-by-downloads and phishing attacks, removing Newzio from your PC obviously is a safer course of action than letting Newzio stay installed. Despite not being classified as a formal threat, Newzio still can be removed by appropriately comprehensive anti-malware tools. Using other means of uninstalling Newzio does run some risks that may continue to keep your computer vulnerable to future attacks, and this especially is true if you see any other symptoms of potentially threatening activity.
Malicious advertisements frequently still rely on their viewers being gullible enough to interact with them intentionally. Never give personal information to entities promoted through Newzio advertisements, never install software from a Newzio advertisement and never trust suspicious alerts from Newzio advertisements and your PC should be reasonably protected from all of the most obvious hazards. Good anti-malware software can pick up the slack from there.
