XP Security
XP Security is a dangerous application created by hackers. XP Security can be compared to other similar rogue anti-spyware programs such as XP Security Tool or XP Smart Security 2010. These applications are designed to trick computer users into purchase of a full version through deceptive popup messages and fake system scan results. Not only does XP Security not have the ability to remove parasites, it cannot detect any type of legitimate parasite. XP Security should be removed with a good spyware tool to help reduce the risk of damages.
Thanks for the info here, but, I followed your scheme and couldn't find anything with xp security in it. Someone gave me a cd with a tool that was supposed to sniff it out ut the computer says the cd is corrupted. It was brand new. I hate to think the bad guys will win this one. Any ideas?

My computer was recently infected with the XP Security virus - I ran a scan with "Avast!" and it removed 3 items, so I restarted my computer and XP Security seems to have disappeared, but so did the proper functionality of my computer... I can't even bring up my registry editor, nor Avast, and many other applications; I only end up with an error message stating that the application can't be found. Can anyone help me out with this? I really can't afford to take my computer in anywhere, and desperately need it for online courses I'm enrolled in for college.

My brothers computer has been high jacked by a security system called xp smart security.

Yes! The restore suggestion worked. I restored to 6 days earlier and everything seems fine. Thanks! I am still going to run malware scans and all of that just to make sure it is all gone

i have the same problem. i have Xp security 2012 it blocks everything that im doing i cant download or use any virus protection programs
I can't get restore to open it sends me to an open with screen and can't find what to open it with.l I tried notebook but that was just gobbledegook
The restore worked best thing to do is do it as soon as your computer turns on as it opens the restore before xp starts up
